Happy April! I was originally planning to make this month’s small business favorites a themed one, but I decided to just drop a collection of random things I’m loving this month. This collection will probably give you a peek into my aesthetic!
Did I purchase everything on here and try it myself? Unfortunately, no. If I could purchase everything I loved from small businesses, I absolutely would. But I’m also a small business and I don’t make enough money to have a budget that large. Maybe some day!
I would like to point out a couple things in this collection and share a little bit of the heart behind why they’re here:
I included the emotions journal from Promptly Journals because this is something I wish I’d had when I was a kid. It’s “a prompted, beautifully illustrated journal that helps kids 5-18 navigate their emotions.” I honestly think that this is something that EVERY child should go through, but especially children who have had emotional things happen in their lives, like a parent going through addiction, their parents getting divorced, being bullied in school, etc. Kids go through way more than they should and I think this Promptly Journal could really help them understand and work through their emotions.
You can also see a couple of reusable, sustainable items in the mix. I visited Koko the Shop earlier this year and it got me really excited about making the switch to some sustainable products. I’ve been hesitant to say anything because I have in no way made the switch to sustainable products completely. But I don’t think it’s realistic to think that anyone does that overnight.
I’m starting that journey with some reusable tote bags for grocery shopping (I’m still figuring out how to remember to bring them every time) (also I got the terrazzo one and I love it) and a reusable straw that I actually got from Women’s Collective Box. I also got some multi-purpose cleaner from Koko that I’ve loved! You should check out their refillery if you’re near one of their locations. They have the perfect containers for basically nothing and multiple options to fill them up with. Aaand you can come back and refill your containers when you’re out!
Lastly, I want to talk about the three tees. I’ve really been loving wearing graphic t-shirts lately and these are three that I adore. I own the daydreamer tee from Revival Haus and I will most likely own the other two eventually (again with the budget thing). I think graphic tees are a great conversation starter and I love the message that these three have.
I really hope you find something you love in this collection. Drop some of your own small business favorites in the comments and I’ll check them out!
